I have vivid and unusual dreams, when I remember them. Often, they play out like movies. If dreams can tell us anything about ourselves, then this dream journal should tell a lot about me! (Let's hope it doesn't just say I'm a crazy lady.)

Nightmare About My Baby Dying

I woke up from one of the worst nightmares last night! In fact, it was so bad that I woke up because I was crying out loud.

I dreamed that I gave birth to the baby in a hospital that was haunted. The hauntings didn't seem very sinister, just helpful. One of the ghosts was a midwife who had passed away a few years ago - that kind of haunting.

Anyway, I started to have really bad back pain (this part of the dream was because my back really was hurting), so I left the baby with a midwife and went to find the doctor to see if she could prescribe anything for the pain. I found the doctor but she was busy and made me wait.

After what seemed like a long time of waiting, things started happening around me. First, the temperature dropped and it got very cold. Then a window nearby opened on its own. I started to get a very bad feeling about my baby and started running back to check on her. Just as I started running, windows started shattering everywhere and I knew the ghosts were warning me.

All the doctors in the hospital were watching a performance, and I had to drag one of them to come with me. They thought I was crazy and weren't believing me that my baby was in trouble. I got almost back to my room, when the ghost midwife stopped me shaking her head sadly, letting me know that my baby had died. I started screaming "No, no, no!" and that's what woke me up.

Apparently, Robert was having trouble sleeping last night and had gone downstairs. He popped back upstairs to ask me if that was Isabella he heard crying. I had to tell him it was me, because I had just had a really bad nightmare. He agreed it must have been really bad.

Toilets, Climbing & Giving Birth

Last night, probably due to a fever I had, I had the weirdest dreams.

One had to do with needing to go to the potty and having all of the toilets in the house (way more than we actually have) be completely dry of water.

The other was about this large barred wall that needed to be climbed. Someone else was trying to climb it too, but if you grabbed the wrong bar, you would get an electric shock, some of them more powerful than others. After watching the other guy try and climb the wall, I climbed it and found all the right bars to grab.

Then I dreamed I went into labour. It lasted three hours and I went into it on my own about 3 weeks before my due date. (Now THAT part of my dreams was just wishful thinking!)

Spider Panic

And last night, during one of my 45 minute sleeps, I had a dream that my girls and I were all in one of their rooms and we saw a spider crawling down the wall. I pointed it out to the girls and it started walking on Angelica's face (she's never been scared of spiders). When it crawled off of her, it no longer looked like a large daddy-long-leg, but it looked like a tarantula, only it was black with orangey-red spots and it was about three times the size of a tarantula! Gabby tried to pet it but I yelled at her not to, because I had no idea if it was poisonous or not. I ran to the kitchen cupboard to get some bug spray (would Raid actually kill a spider of that size?) and then found it had moved to the bathroom. I went into the bathroom and found it right above the kitchen door poised to jump. *shudder* So I started spraying it with the bug spray, and it fell to the floor and started running. It ran into my room (which was really a room I haven't seen since I was 11), and into my closet. I kept spraying it and hit it with one more burst of spray before it disappeared into the closet, but I didn't want to check for it myself, so I called Robert and told him about it and that he had to come home and make sure it was dead. I don't like spiders, but I don't usually panic around them, yet in my dream I was really freaked out!

Unborn Baby Boy Visits

I had a dream about a baby last night.

I can't remember most of the dream very clearly, just that I was doing a lot of different things in it, and whenever I went back into my room, there was a REALLY tiny baby sleeping, just laying on top of the covers. It was dressed all in blue and it was really tiny - premie tiny. In my head I would think, "Oh, that must be Jenn's baby (my younger sister)," and I would let it sleep. But again, every time I went back into my room, the baby was still there.

Finally, I started to worry, because it was so small, that something might be wrong. So I went over and picked the baby up. He opened his eyes and kind of blinked over and over in that squinty, sleepy-eyed newborn way and I immediately felt so full of love for this tiny little baby, and I knew he was mine. His arms weren't any bigger than my fingers, and his body would have fit in the palm of my hand. He still had a wet umbilical cord attached to his belly. Then I woke up.

Now, this might sound typical for a pregnant woman to dream, but although I have had some very weird dreams during my pregnancies, I NEVER had one that so vividly included a baby in it (I had one about a monkey once though). It just really stuck in my head after I woke.
